I need to confess something…⠀
My end of year reflection has taken a really ugly turn the last couple of days. I somehow have landed in a self-loathing place, recounting all my failures, agonizing over un-reached goals.⠀
Whaaat happened? How did I end up here in the abysmal land of broken dreams and regret? Can you relate?
OK. Deep breath.⠀
Let’s do this together:
Shift focus away from what is NOT working.
Make a list of everything in your life that IS going well. In an attempt to manifest our desires, sometimes we get caught up in the absence of them. Focus on lack just creates more lack.
Get REALLY grateful.
Rampage of appreciation time—start to write down everything you’re grateful for. Even little things like the comfy pajama pants you’re wearing, your favorite coffee mug, healthy (loud) kids. Keep going until you feel your mood lift. Gratitude is a powerful mental & spiritual medicine. ⠀
Trust that everything you desire is on its way to you.
Recognize your impatience and tendency to force and struggle. Instead breathe deep, relax & soften your grip on the outcome you think you want. Hold your intention deliberately but loosely like a delicate robin’s egg.⠀
Stop beating yourself up.
Failures, un-realized goals and all the things that didn’t work last year are just feedback. Let those things teach you and guide you toward the next right step.⠀
It’s natural to slip into negativity. Just part of the human condition. But don’t hang out there, okay? K. All good things are coming. You got this.
Save this post for the next time you need some action steps to pull out of a negative nose dive ❤️
