Let Go & Go For It

I’m betting your life feels pretty good.  You have the house, healthy kids, a supportive partner.  You go to sporting events, church, nice restaurants on the weekend and you have a handful of close friends to text on the regular. ⁣⁣.

Maybe things are going pretty well. You have a busy schedule, but you decompress with some nightly Netflix binging because after a long day, you’re too tired to do much of anything else. ⁣.

You have started to notice that once every now and then you feel really anxious. You start to get antsy while scrolling through Instagram.  You secretly long to create something more for yourself. You need an outlet for your creativity and you dream of owning your own company. You see other women doing it, and they seem so free.  You’re smart and capable, so you decide to go for it. .

You get a rush of enthusiasm and start to mind map ideas.  You pop over to Canva and design a logo. You google social media growth strategies.  It starts to feel really exciting.

YOU CAN DO THIS.

And just when you’re 1/2 way lost in big dreams and plans, your 5th grader needs help with math, your toddler starts to get a little cough, the dog got out of the fence again, your partner has a work crisis. ⁣.

So you sigh, stop your creative flow and think…maybe someday.

Someday. When you have more time. Less responsibilities. More money. More energy.⁣

You remind yourself that this is just how things are when you’re a mom. That all is coming in good time.

Mostly, things in your life are “okay”. So why rock the boat?⁣

So, you settle into your pj’s, help with homework, rub vapo-rub on your toddler’s chest, play therapist to your distraught spouse.  Comfy, “pretty good”.. that’s what life is. And it’s crazy scary to think about blowing up your comfort zone. Besides, you’re tired now anyway. .

But here’s the thing…You know that gal mind-mapping her biz ideas and getting excited about logo colors and marketing plans… the way that her fatigue melted away for a minute…

That gal deserves a chance.

To start creating the life she put on hold for her family.  And it doesn’t have to be either/or. .

So let go of what’s comfy & go for it.
