These are all things men called me when I was a young lawyer. I’m from the south, so some of it is just customary.
We talk like that y’all, It’s a thing.
But it was also condescending and a little sexist. I spent a lot of years trying to push against it. I wanted to be tough..to prove myself an unshakable bad-ass.

I realized one day that acting strong in response to someone making me feel weak wasn’t strength at all. I was just acting, playing a role in their movie.
That’s when I decided to produce my OWN movie.
See, strength doesn’t look any one certain way. A boxer, a soldier, a warrior, an athlete— or a ball-busting lawyer are all strong images. .
But, I’m none of those things. .
I’m strong in my femininity and creativity. I’m strong in my receptivity. I’m strong in my intuition and emotional resilience. I’m strong in my discernment. I listen and give wise counsel. I’m strong in diagnosing problems and seeing innovative solutions. .
These are the things that make me a great entrepreneur, business coach & teacher. These things make me a great mom.
Do what YOU do without apology. Authenticity is true power.
Don’t be strong like anyone else. Be strong like YOU. There’s more than one way to be a bad-ass.
What do YOUR strengths look like?
