Instagram is one of the most powerful tools that you can use to grow your business. It’s undeniable, though, that coming up with new Instagram post ideas for business growth can be crazy difficult. Want to know the good news?? It’s not as difficult as you might think. Here are seven of my go-to Instagram post ideas that your audience actually wants to see.

1. Testimonials and Reviews

Did you know that testimonials and reviews from former clients are some of the best marketing tools you can leverage for your business? Think about it: When you’re looking for a new restaurant to try, do you stalk Google reviews or choose the place with the prettiest logo?

Sure, Instagram definitely offers a space to make your brand look nice. But you’re going to need some concrete evidence that you can do your job, and that you do it well if you want an edge over the competition.

Your Instagram account is hands-down the best place you can showcase the positive experiences previous clients have had working with you. Don’t be afraid to get creative. Colorful infographics in fun fonts are some of my favorite ways to display text posts on Instagram!

2. Tell Your Brand Story

Your brand story makes you unique. When a client lands on your Instagram profile, it should tell them a story about what you do, how you do it, and most importantly why. Your brand story helps you connect with your audience. It should unite you with like-minded individuals who have a problem that you can solve.

You started a business because you’re passionate about what you do. The most important thing you can do when you’re telling your brand story is to be authentic!

I know it can be tempting to cater to the story you think will attract people who are ready to spend the big bucks on your products or services. It’s far more influential to stay true to yourself, though! When you radiate your true core values, the right clients will come. Trust the process and remember: Progress trumps perfection every time.

3. Go Behind The Scenes

One of my favorite Instagram post ideas for business accounts is to LIFT THE VEIL. Being transparent about your processes is a huge part of building authenticity with your audience. What’s the easiest way to do this, you ask?? Go behind the scenes!

How do you make the products you offer? What are your processes for the services you give to your clients? It’s easy to make a quick video to share the answers to these questions, and it will make a huge impact on your followers.

4. Fun Facts About Your Business

One of the worst mistakes I see businesses making on Instagram is being too transactional. Boring and mundane IG feeds don’t excite, inspire, or motivate followers. We all like to have a little fun, especially on social media. That’s what it’s all about!

Sharing fun facts about your business on Instagram totally shifts the energy of your feed. Banish boring with lighthearted, feel-good content that makes clients want to connect with you. Show them you’re more than just an online store or a friendly neighborhood life coach.

Your business is made up of a tapestry of experiences, events, struggles, and wins. Fun facts breathe life into your brand, which makes you more memorable. Why aren’t you making posts about them?

5. Instagram Post Ideas for Business: Lifestyle Edition

Introduce your followers to the person behind the brand: You! I know it can be scary to put yourself out there, especially when fears of failure or rejection creep up. But your unique values, talents, and knowledge give you something valuable to offer to the world.

Being vulnerable builds trust, confidence, and authenticity. I cannot stress how essential it is to be authentic. Building real connections is about engaging authentically. Create a post about who you are, what makes you unique, and what led you to run the business you have today.

Use these posts to market yourself as someone who cares. Invest your time into having genuine conversations in the comments. Avoid coming across as overly salesy or chatting in the comments with an agenda – clients can smell that a mile away. Be true to yourself and trust that the right clients will come.

6. Instagram Post Ideas for Business Promotion

This Instagram post idea for online business advancement is all about starting a conversation about what you make, do, or sell. Even though this is a great way to promote your business, let’s be clear. This is not a sales pitch.

Forget about pushy sales tactics. When you shift your focus to telling a story about what you do and how your services can make a difference in others’ lives, it inspires and motivates. If your mom asked you what you do for a living, what would you say? Approach this post the same way. You’ll be surprised how much this tiny shift makes a massive difference in how your clients perceive you.

7. Quotes

One of my favorite ways to use my business Instagram is to make a positive impact on someone’s day. Posting quotes is a wonderful vehicle you can use to inspire, motivate, uplift, or just make someone smile.

Remember: Instagram is a visually-driven platform. Try posting a striking image and placing a quote in the caption or creating a graphic with a nice font to display the quote on your feed. Another best practice is to make sure your graphics are cohesive with the rest of your feed. Choose colors that match your brand image and quotes that align with your beliefs and values.

Jessica Depew

I'm Jess. I'm an attorney, writer, CEO, yoga teacher and a heart-centered mom of three. I'm dedicated to helping you grow your business alongside your family and be the person you most want to be. If you're curious about my background and how I came to do what I do, here's the riveting story (get your popcorn ready)... I'm a born and raised Texas girl (hook 'em!) bred with equal parts no-nonsense discipline and sweet southern charm. I'm a preacher's kid and an obsessive self-development junkie who spends time reading, teaching, writing and coaching heart-centered business women in building their online empires. Ironically, I try to spend as much time offline as possible. I love chick-fil-a waffle fries and I can rap every word of "Ice, Ice Baby" on demand. I've owned and helped run multiple businesses over the past 20 years—law firms, yoga studios, tech companies and cyber forensic startups—just to name a few. I'm honored to have been named one of Southeast TX's "Top 40 Entrepreneurs Under 40" and my 12 YO has assured me that I'm "legit pretty cool for a mom". Through years of teaching and coaching women in business, leading retreats around the world and creating life-changing programs and courses, I help women like you dream big, clear mental-emotional blocks and finally take action that creates results.
